The most obvious obstacle to effective prayer is the presence of unconfessed sin in the heart of the one praying. Because our God is holy, there is a barrier that exists between Him and us when we come to Him with unconfessed sin in our lives. “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear” (Isaiah 59:2). David agrees, knowing from experience that God is far from those who try to hide their sin from God: “If I had looked at iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have heard me” (Psalm 66:18).
The Bible refers to many areas of sin that are obstacles to effective prayer. First, when we are living according to the flesh, and not the Spirit, our desire to pray and our ability to communicate effectively with God are hindered. Although we receive a new nature when we are born again, that new nature still resides in our old body and that old “store” is corrupt and sinful. The flesh can gain control of our actions, attitudes, and motives unless we are diligent in “putting to death the deeds of the body” (Romans 8:13) and being led by the Spirit into a right relationship with God. Only then can we pray in close communion with Him.
1 John 5:14

anything according to His will, He hears us“
Ask God to guide you to His will.
Ask with love, with generosity, not only
thinking of yourself but also of others.
Approach God with joy, with faith,
with love and gratitude, and your
connection will be fruitful.
God is opening doors and preparing
the way for you. He’s going to
reveal things to you.
Approach God with a positive mindset,
from abundance and not from lack,
because the change begins in you.
“Until now you have asked for nothing
in My name; ask, and you will receive,
that your joy may be made full”.

and obstacles to my prayers are being
removed. As I await the manifestation
of what I’ve prayed for, I hold on in faith,
knowing that You never fail me.
I will continue to trust in You and know
that You are the one, true living God.

offer my heartfelt thanks to You.
Your name is Worthy, Glorious, Almighty
in power and I claim victory today in Your name.
Send Your mightiest warriors to
fight this battle for us.
Lord, to You the darkness shines as

free us, give us peace, and snatch
us back from the enemy’s grip.
And so, I declare that the enemy has no
hold over me! I am radiant with the glory
of the Lord and I rise to a new life in Christ,
